| How much is a web design? |

When people email me and ask for a quote, I always follow the same process. I visit their current site and determine the following:
Generally speaking, after checking out the site in question and looking at their competition, I usually have a good idea of how much I want to charge. Now, it will still all depend on what your budget can withstand. The fact is, there are possibly several ways to accomplish the same task. Cheap, Better, and the Best way. Now, to answer the question you all want to hear…How much is all this gonna run ya? At this time, I want my designs to start at $3500. The reason is, this gives us enough flexibility to truly be creative and spend a lot more time in creating the solution a business is really looking for. This price is for a website that has minimal graphical complexity, no customized icons, and no logo production. What you do get at this price is rock-solid, hand-crafted, browser-tested CSS, HTML, and simple (but striking) graphic design that is uniquely yours. With that said, I also can do designs for $500, but not much effort is put into them and options are extremely restrictive as you can imagine. In most cases, bells and whistles like plugin support, unique page designs, and extra graphics push the price up into the $6000-$10000 range. From there, the price is largely dictated by page-specific CSS/XHTML/Database and custom graphic designs. It’s totally conceivable that a pimped out website could run as much as $10000. If you add video production into the mix, you could easily be into the $30,000 - $50,000 range. Rest assured, though, that it would be totally badass, and the recipient of the design would receive mad props for having such a killer online presents. Who knows, maybe even another award winning solution.
